1. Information We Collect
Account Information: We collect your name and email address when you create an account. Authentication is handled securely through Apple Sign-In or Google Sign-In.
Fitness Data: We collect your workout logs (exercises, sets, weights and reps), personal records, the body measurements you enter (weight, body fat percentage, lean mass, height), and your goals and program settings, to personalize your programs and show your progress.
Device Information: We collect basic device information including type, operating system version, and app version for technical support and improvements.
Waitlist: If you join the waitlist on burnx.me, we collect your email address, the language you chose and the time you joined, to send you your invitation, news about the launch and news from BurnX. The address is used for nothing else and is not sold or shared beyond the service providers described under Data Sharing. We keep it for as long as you stay on the list. If you unsubscribe, we stop writing and keep the address only so that we never write to it again; if you ask us to delete it, we delete it. Every email carries an unsubscribe link, and you can write to privacy@burnx.me at any time.
2. How We Use Your Information
Your information is used to:
- Generate personalized workout and meal plans using AI technology to process your fitness data and preferences
- Track and display your fitness progress over time
- Automatically adjust your programs based on performance
- Send important updates about your account and subscription
- Improve our app and develop new features
- Provide customer support when needed
3. Data Security
Your data is encrypted in transit and at rest on Google's Firebase infrastructure, sign-in goes through Apple or Google, and access is limited to what running the app requires.
4. Data Sharing
We only share your data with:
- Essential service providers (Firebase for infrastructure, Google Gemini for AI-powered features)
- Analytics and performance monitoring tools (e.g., Google Analytics)
- Payment processors (RevenueCat and the Apple App Store)
- Law enforcement when legally required
- Third parties with your explicit consent
5. AI-Powered Features & Third-Party Data Processing
BurnX uses Google Gemini, a third-party AI service provided by Google LLC, to power several features in our app. When you use AI-powered features, certain personal data is sent to Google Gemini for processing. Below is a summary of what data is shared and for which features:
- Workout Plan Generation: Your fitness goals, body measurements, fitness level, available equipment, and exercise preferences are sent to Google Gemini to generate personalized workout plans.
- Meal Plan Generation: Your caloric needs, nutritional goals, body measurements, age, sex and training days are sent to Google Gemini to write your meal plan.
- AI Coach Chat: Your messages, fitness profile, workout history, and progress data are sent to Google Gemini to provide personalized coaching responses.
- Program Adjustments: Your workout performance data and progress metrics are sent to Google Gemini to automatically adjust your training programs.
- Progress Analysis: Your historical fitness data and body measurements may be sent to Google Gemini to generate progress insights and recommendations.
Your Consent: BurnX writes your program and your meal plans with the AI service, so using BurnX means agreeing to this. You are asked once, during onboarding, before any data is sent, and the app does not start without it. The consent is recorded on your account. There is no way to switch it off while keeping the account: to stop, delete your account in the app, and your data is removed as described under Data Retention.
Data Handling: Data sent to Google Gemini is processed on our behalf under the Gemini API terms for paid services. Under those terms Google does not use the prompts or the responses to improve its products, and may keep them for a limited period to check for abuse of its policies. The data travels over encrypted connections.
6. Your Rights
You have the right to:
- Access all your personal data
- Request corrections to inaccurate information
- Delete your account and associated data
- Ask for a copy of your data
- Opt-out of marketing communications
7. Data Retention
We retain your data while your account remains active. When you delete your account, the account's documents and files are deleted from our servers at once. Copies in backups, and the records that Apple and RevenueCat must keep for billing, are cleared within 30 days, except where the law requires longer retention. Anonymized aggregate data may be retained for analytics.
8. Children's Privacy
BurnX is for people aged 16 and over, and the app does not accept a lower age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 16; if we learn that we have, we delete it.
9. International Data Transfers
Your data may be transferred to and processed in countries other than your own. We ensure appropriate safeguards are in place to protect your data in accordance with applicable laws.
10. Changes to This Policy
We may update this privacy policy from time to time. We will notify you of any material changes by email or through the app. Continued use of our services after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
